About Jackie

Jackie Evans is a visual artist living and working in St. John’s, NL.
 

Born in Toronto, Jackie grew up in Newfoundland and lived in Halifax for seven years.
 

She began her art studies at the College of the North Atlantic, graduating with a diploma in Art. Jackie continued her studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where she completed a BFA.
 

While her early work was influenced by Alex Livingstone, Clifford George, and Henri Rousseau, Jackie’s impressionistic approach to style and her
technique continue to evolve.

 

Jackie has been deeply engaged with the local arts community for many
years. In addition to her personal art practise, she teaches public workshops
and private classes in a variety of mediums.

 

Jackie has been instrumental in preparing group and solo exhibitions.
Together with her peers, she has engaged in developing, planning, and
curating a variety of exhibitions.

 

Jackie’s most recent career milestones include selling a painting, “The Bagel
Café,” to the City of St. Johns, exhibiting at The Rooms as part of the Arts and
Letters Competition’s visual art exhibition, and being awarded second place in a national competition for works to be exhibited on Parliament Hill as part of the celebration of Canada’s 150 th anniversary.


Jackie’s work can be found in private collections in Canada and the UK.

SUMMARY

includes work from solo shows, group exhibitions, and skilled commissioned
